The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently browsing the Fernie two Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services into the community.
SASSA is going to be rendering providers such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency said it's alarmed regarding the large variety of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The intention of your Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a large amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“That is because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office focused on SRD service the area regularly. The services place created for intervention encounters a significant inflow of possible beneficiaries, which makes it tricky for the office to attend to all people who check out a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional resources to help the servicing of all customers and enhance usage of Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
